City of Blair (WQOW) - According to a press release from the Trempealeau County Sheriff's Department a fire involving a woman and four children resulted in them being transported to be treated for critical injuries.
Tuesday, March 15, smoke was reported to be coming from Jacalyn Hanson's residence. The officer on the scene found Hanson outside the residence with the four children still inside the residence. After the officer attempted to enter the residence, but was unable to due to the amount of smoke, the fire department arrived and were able to locate the children and bring them to safety.
Hanson and three children where were transported to Region's Burn center in St. Paul and are in critical condition.
One child was treated and released from the Gundersen Tri County Hospital in Whitehall, Wisconsin.
The incident is still under investigation by the Blair Police Department and the Trempealeau County Sheriff's Office.
