Judge orders restitution for former UW-Stout employee
A Dunn County judge has ordered a former UW-Stout employee to repay over $109,000 she allegedly took from the school.
Colleen P. Challe, 44, of Menomonie pleaded guilty last April to taking money from a Stout program she supervised. But her lawyers disputed the amount she should have to pay back. According to online court records, Judge Rod Smelzer this week ordered Challe to pay $109,399.
Challe, whose previous name was Colleen Davis, resigned from the Menomonie School Board after the charges were filed last year. Another hearing in the case is scheduled for July 21.
