Claire Sarafin joined News 18 in June 2016 as a reporter and weekend anchor. She grew up near Sheboygan (in a tiny town called Hingham, don't feel bad if you've never heard of it!), graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 2012 and has worked for our sister station in Madison for the last 4 years.
While at UWEC, Claire studied broadcast journalism and women's studies and had the opportunity to travel to Scotland and down south as part of the Civil Rights Pilgrimage, twice!
In Madison, she co-produced the 3-time award winning morning show, Wake Up Wisconsin. She misses the city and her friends there dearly, but wouldn't trade living during "normal hours" for the world. Now she's back in Eau Claire and couldn't be more excited to work with the dedicated journalists at WQOW, including her boyfriend's mom meteorologist LeAnn Lombardo!
In her free time Claire likes to bake and read and watch more bad TV than she cares to admit. She loves the Packers, Brewers and the Bucks and hopes to ultimately end up in Milwaukee so she can get season tickets once the new stadium is built.
She loves helping people and sharing their stories, so if you've got something to say let her know! She's here to listen.
