Madison (WQOW) -- Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) introduced legislation Thursday that she says will create transparency in cases where prescription drug companies drastically increase prices.
Baldwin co-sponsored the bi-partisan legislation with Sen. John McCain (R-AZ). Their bill is called the Fair Drug Pricing Act, and it would require drug makers to file a justification for price increases larger than 10%.
"In the news recently have been several examples of drug prices that have simply sky-rocketed, with no explanation, no justification available to the public who rely on these medications," Sen. Baldwin said.
Baldwin referenced the recent skyrocketing price of EpiPens.
