U.S. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan says Donald Trump will join him at the Walworth County Fairgrounds in Elkhorn on Saturday for a campaign rally.
The Trump campaign announced days ago that he would be coming back to Wisconsin, but the campaign has not said exactly where.
Speaker Ryan announced Thursday Trump planned to take part in Saturday's GOP event in Ryan's district, which will also include Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and U.S. Senator Ron Johnson, who is running for re-election. Recent polls show Johnson trailing Democrat and former U.S. Senator Russ Feingold.
The Elkhorn stop will be the day before the second presidential debate between Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
Trump seems to be placing a renewed emphasis on Wisconsin, as he also campaigned in suburban Milwaukee last week and his son, Donald Trump, Jr., campaigned in Brookfield on Wednesday.
Clinton has not campaigned in the state since April, but former democratic presidential candidate and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders rallied voters on her behalf in Madison on Wednesday.
