A couple from Eau Claire is traveling to Haiti to help people recovering from Hurricane Matthew and they're asking for your help.
Sandi Polzin has a special connection to the country, she and her husband John have adopted 4 children from Haiti. Their goal now is to purchase hundreds of thousands of meals to hand deliver to people in the worst hit parts of the country.
Polzin says they'll buy most of their supplies once they get to Haiti, as a way to boost the country's economy.
"We want to empower Haiti to become self-sufficient," Polzin told News 18, "but when your resources are limited they still need so much outside help."
The Polzins leave for Haiti on Tuesday and are looking for as much support as they can get from our community. If you want to help, email Sandi at email@example.com and she'll instruct you further on the best ways to show your support.
