Eau Claire (WQOW) - As Hurricane Matthew continues to leave destruction in its wake, an Eau Claire business is bracing for a big impact: dealing with the damage.
My Receptionist, a company headquartered in Eau Claire, offers receptionist services for businesses, as well as works with large insurance providers to start the claims process. The workers here will be one of the first people Florida homeowners speak with to report damage to their home from Hurricane Matthew.
My Receptionist expects an additional 10,000 calls, this weekend alone. To prepare, they've brought on nearly 20 extra employees to handle the calls.
President and CEO of My Receptionist, Jeffrey Noe, said the company works 24/7/365 and has seen a steady increase in calls, starting Friday mid-day. "Since then, it's really almost doubled. We're starting to see a significant increase as homeowners get back to their property and start to assess their damage," Noe said.
My Receptionist also has a location in Vero Beach, Florida. That office reopened on Saturday, after being closed for more than 2 days so employees could prepare for the storm, or evacuate.
