Eau Claire (WQOW)- Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's daughter, Ivanka, made a campaign stop in Eau Claire Thursday afternoon. She spoke to a group at the Lismore hotel for about 30 minutes. She told the crowd that her father's plan to help working mothers will make it easier for families.
Answering a question from a woman in the crowd, Ms. Trump said current government regulations make it very difficult for women-- or anyone else-- to start their own business. She said her father's plan to get rid of unnecessary regulations would help foster more private business.
After answering questions, Ms. Trump shook hands and posed for pictures with some of the people in the audience.
Eau Claire (WQOW)- Staff at The Lismore Hotel in downtown Eau Claire have confirmed that Ivanka Trump will make an appearance there on Thursday.
The website Eventbrite lists details of an event scheduled at The Lismore Hotel. It says doors open at 1:45 p.m. and attendees will need a ticket.
Eau Claire has not seen a visit from Hillary Clinton's or Donald Trump's presidential campaign since the primary election.
The event was scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, but Ivanka is running 90 minutes late. Ivanka Trump will begin speaking at 4 p.m.
