Chippewa Falls (WQOW)- On Tuesday Chippewa Falls City Council met and approved a few ways to make Elm Street safer, where the road meets County Highway N.
The city said Tuesday the nearby intersection is a common path for kids to walk to school, and right now there is no crosswalk or sidewalks. Tuesday's approval means the city will start working on painting a crosswalk on Hilary Street to meet the walking trail. Also included in the effort is posting additional speed limit signs, where the speed limit is reduced from 55 mph to 25 mph.
The city said both of these additions will cost about $1,500.
