Christmas tree arrives in downtown Eau Claire

Eau Claire (WQOW) -

It may not feel like Christmas in downtown Eau Claire, but it's starting to look like it.

Wednesday morning a 25 foot Fraiser fir was delivered and put up near U.S. Bank off Barstow Street.

A representative with Downtown Eau Claire Incorporated says the tree was donated by Curvue Hideaway and Trees in Eau Claire. He says more than 2,000 bulbs will light up the towering tree.

"This is a new location for the tree this year," Kyran Hamill told News 18. "We want to find a little more public space, a little more pedestrian space and just down from the State Theater and across from Haymarket Landing. And we think it will be a really nice public space."

DECI said the Christmas tree will be lit up on Friday, December 2 during DECI's "Let It Glow!" event.
