Eau Claire (WQOW) - With the holidays quickly approaching, and Thanksgiving only days away, you will likely find yourself indulging in quite a bit of food, but not getting enough exercise to keep yourself healthy.
Staff at Gold's Gym of Eau Claire say this time of year they see an increase in memberships, because as the weather gets colder people do not want to walk or run outside as much.
They also say as the holiday season moves in, people eat a lot more food high in fats and calories, but might not find as much time to work out.
Staff recommend instead of taking a nap on a full stomach after your big meal, by getting off the couch and exercising you will feel better physically and mentally.
"There is no negative impact when you exercise," said Monique Granado of Gold's Gym. "You are going your body good and it is mentally helping you too. You never say I was so made after I worked out, you get all of your aggression out, you get any negative out of you."
Granado said by engaging in activity for even twenty minutes a day, you can make a difference in your body through the winter months.
