Chippewa Falls' annual light show to be open on Thanksgiving Day

Chippewa Falls (WQOW) – Lights, camera and action! The 29th annual Christmas Village in Irvine Park and Zoo is scheduled to open on Thanksgiving Day.

The Chippewa Falls Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department will turn on the light show at 5pm on Thanksgiving Day to pedestrians. After 6:30pm, cars will be allowed to drive through the park to see the lights. The event is free and open to the public.

Christmas Village - Open daily starting on Thanksgiving Day

Opening Night: Thanksgiving Day, November 24

5:00—Lights turn on for the first time

5:00 – 6:30pm: Walking Only

6:30 – 9:30pm: Open to traffic and walking
 

Howard Wheaton 4-H: Friday, November 25

Serving Hot Chocolate and cookies in Activity Building from 5pm to 7pm in Activity Building

Run for the Lights 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Walk: Saturday, November 26

2:45: Check-In and Race-Day Registration (at Marshall Warming House)

4:00: Race Start – Main Pavilion -Park is closed to vehicle traffic during this time

Post Race– Awards, refreshments, and treats

CHIP TIMING FOR 5K Run participants!!

Enjoy a relaxing ride through the beautiful Irvine Park Christmas Village and downtown Chippewa Falls! Tickets for the rides go on sale Friday, November 25, 2016 at the Gordy's County Market Service Center (downtown Chippewa Falls location only). The cost is $6 per ticket. They go fast, so get yours early!
