Holiday Toy Trains at Chippewa Valley Museum

On Wednesday, News 18 showed you as volunteers set up the 384 square foot holiday train display.

Today, the trains were on the track. The track will have "Lionel" train replicas and contain original models from the early 19-hundreds. The museum has also set up a toy train scavenger hunt. The holiday toy train display will run through December 27th.

Admission on the weekends is $9 for adults and $6 for kids ages 5 and up. On Tuesdays, admission is $2 per person. 

Hours are: 

Tuesday: 5:00-8:00 p.m
Friday: 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.S
Saturdays: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Sundays: 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.


An homage to Eau Claire's past is coming to Chippewa Valley Museum, just in time for the holidays. 

Visitors will soon be able to marvel at a 384-square foot toy train display. Wednesday, volunteers began setting up the display of log cabins, a dairy farm, and even a model of Fort McCoy. The track will have Lionel Train replicas and contain models from the early 1900s. 

"Well you know, our community has a long history of railroading, Altoona, even the high school is called the Railroaders, and so we wanted to bring that rail road history alive." said Chuck Lindvig with the Chippewa Valley Railroad Association. 

The holiday toy train display opens to the public on Friday and will through December 27th. Admission on the weekends is $9 for adults and $6 for kids ages 5 and up. On Tuesdays, admission is $2 per person.
