(WQOW) - According to Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home, Una Bonkrude of Rice Lake died Sunday, Nov. 20, at the age of 107. News 18 first introduced you to Bonkrude on July 27, the day she celebrated her 107th birthday.
Bonkrude was born back in 1909, and lived through 18 presidents. She told News 18 in July that she did not feel that old. In fact, she taught piano up until she was 99 years old, and played piano in her church until she was 105.
Living to be as old as she was, Bonkrude said she had the key to living a good life.
"Just behave yourself," Bonkrude said. "Don't smoke, don't drink, don't act silly. If you behave yourself that takes care of everything."
She said her favorite memories in life revolved around music, because she grew up in a musical family before actually becoming a music teacher.
According to Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home, funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 26 at Dallas Lutheran Church with Pastors Heather Kistner and Bob Friese officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be directed to Dallas Lutheran Church.
