Eau Claire (WQOW) - We spent the past week reminding ourselves of everything we have to be thankful for, but for some in the Chippewa Valley, time with family continues through the weekend.
Saturday was the first day of the 14th annual Turkey Bowl, a soccer tournament meant to give kids some practice with friends during the off season.
It also allows people visiting for the Thanksgiving weekend a chance to see their loved ones play soccer, because they may not get to during the season.
"The coolest thing is that it is a local one, so even though we get those teams from outside of here too, it is when everybody has their families in town," said Amy Peterson-Foss, executive director at Eau Claire Indoor Sports Center. "Grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles come and they are able to see the kids play and get some of that time they are not always to get throughout the year."
If you want to check out the tournament, the action gets started again Sunday at 9 a.m.
