Eau Claire (WQOW) - Some students at Flynn Elementary in Eau Claire will have a little more wiggle in their work day, thanks to a Tools for Schools grant.
Once a month, thanks Sylvan Learning Center, United Bank, and Eau Claire's own news 18, an area school is awarded a $500 grant to help in the classroom.
November's recipient is the special education department at Flynn Elementary. Tiffany Hall hopes to use the $500 grant for Hokki Stools. The stools give the students a much needed release of energy and helps maintain focus.
Unfortunately, this important tool is tough to get into the budget.
According to Hall, "The Hokki stools cost quite a bit so that was cut from the budget. So we were hoping to get more so that we could have some for both of our special education rooms. And then hopefully, to have those students, once they learn how to use them, go into their general education classrooms with them, so that then could be more successful there.”
