MADISON (WKOW) -- The 2016 holiday mailing season is upon us.
To ensure your mail and gifts are delivered by December 24th, the Madison Post Office has announced their deadlines for domestic, international, and military mailing.
The U.S. Postal Service recommends customers ship their items by the following dates:

Customers mailing internationally during the holidays should note deadlines based on the locations they are mailing to and the service they are using. If mailing and shipping internationally, customers must also follow necessary customs guidelines.

The U.S. Postal Service will also send presents, care packages, and cards to service members overseas.
The send packages to loved ones serving in the military abroad, the Postal Service offers a discounted price of $16.75 on its largest Priority Mail Flat Rate Box. The price includes a $2 per box discount for mail sent to APO/FPO/DPO (Air/Army Post Office/Fleet Post Office/Diplomatic Post Office) destinations worldwide.
To ensure timely delivery, the Postal Service recommends that cards and packages be sent to military APO/FPO/DPO addresses overseas by mailing dates listed on their website.
