UPDATE: No arrests after shot fired inside Eau Claire home


Eau Claire (WQOW) - Eau Claire police are investigating, what they say, was at least one gun shot fired inside a home Thursday morning. 

Police told News 18 six people were taken into custody for questioning but all have since been released. No arrests have been made. 

Police said no one was injured in the shooting, which happened a little after 9 a.m. Thursday morning. Police said an argument between acquaintances triggered the event. 

Eau Claire Police said Bellinger Street and Fifth Avenue were blocked off for about an hour while police got the situation under control. 

"This is when we pull all of our resources, for situations like this," Officer Kyle Roder told News 18. "We try to block as many roads as possible, obviously it's not for the inconvenience of the public, it's for the safety of the public and that's what we strive to do."


Eau Claire (WQOW) - Eau Claire police say Oxford Avenue is secure after responding to a report of shots fired at a residence.

The incident began around 9:15 Thursday morning. Eau Claire police say at least one shot was fired inside a home. There are no known injuries at this time. Police say they currently have at least six people in custody for questioning. 

Police say there is no immediate threat to the public.
