A 24-year-old man was arrested after he took a 100-plus mile taxi ride from Lambeau Field to Richfield and stiffed the cab driver, according to officials in Washington County.
The Sheriff’s Office says Nathan Meleski of Slinger got drunk at Sunday’s Packers game and separated from his friends. He also lost his cell phone.
Meleski found a Yellow Cab Green Bay driver who agreed to take him to Richfield.
The cab stopped at the Richfield Truck Stop where the suspect told the driver he would get money from an ATM to pay his $475.60 fare. The suspect went in the truck stop and slipped out the back door.
Washington County deputies say they spent about an hour tracking the man’s footprints in the snow. They eventually found him in a bar in downtown Richfield.
“The man was arrested and given a complementary ride to the jail where he was booked for theft,” reads a statement from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
