MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Logan Morrison hit a two-run single to give the Minnesota Twins' offense a much-needed lift, and four relievers worked 3 1/3 scoreless innings in a 3-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. Morrison's liner hit high off the right-field wall with one out and the bases loaded in the eighth against reliever Boone Logan. Minnesota was 3 for 18 with runners in scoring position in the series before Morrison's hit. The Twins salvaged the final game of the series, snapping a three-game skid.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Chelsea Gray's contested off-balance shot in the lane at the buzzer gave the Los Angeles Sparks a 77-76 victory over the Minnesota Lynx in their season opener, an intense rematch of last year's WNBA finals. Lindsay Whalen had 10 of her 17 points in the fourth quarter for the Lynx, including a pair of free throws with 5.8 seconds left. Gray finished with 18 points and eight assists.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota has picked up another scholarship player for the upcoming basketball season. The Gophers are getting shooting guard Brock Stull, a graduate transfer from Milwaukee. Stull was the second-leading scorer for the Panthers last season. He averaged 13.4 points per game. Stull will have one year of eligibility remaining for the Gophers. As a sophomore, Stull was picked as the MVP for Milwaukee with a team-high 13.5 points per game.
