Nate Stanley tossed 5 TD passes vs. Ohio State, Saturday
Iowa City (WQOW) -- Menomonie native Nate Stanley had a career-best five touchdown passes in Iowa's 55-24 win Saturday over Ohio State. Now, Stanley and his teammates are getting ready for a trip to Wisconsin to face the unbeaten Badgers.
Stanley's trying to treat this next game like any other, although he admits it's a bit different this week.
"Yeah, maybe a little bit, just continue to prepare the same way," says Stanley, a sophomore quarterback with the Hawkeyes, "I think more importantly, it's a trophy game [Heartland Trophy] for us, just trying to prepare a little extra bit for my teammates, too."
Two other Menomonie products are on the Wisconsin roster: redshirt freshman linebacker Mason Stokke, and freshman offensive lineman Alex Fenton.
"There's a lot of kids from my high school that go to Wisconsin, and actually, one of my best friends [Stokke] is a linebacker on the team, so I mean it's pretty cool to be able to play against somebody that you know, and also, go back and play in front of your friends."
Wisconsin, ranked 8th in the College Football Playoff Rankings and 6th by the AP, will host Iowa (20th in CFP, 25th in AP) at 2:30 P.M., Saturday. You can watch the game on WQOW 18.
