Chippewa County (WQOW) - The Chippewa County Board voted 8-6 on Tuesday to not extend the contract for county administrator Frank Pascarella.
In November, the county's executive committee had recommended keeping Pascarella on through the end of February. With Tuesday's vote, he will leave the job when his contract expires at the end of the year.
A new county administrator has yet to be hired.
Chippewa County (WQOW) - Frank Pascarella could be staying on as the Chippewa County Administrator -- at least for a few more months.
Tuesday, the Chippewa County Executive Committee voted 3-1 to keep Pascarella on the job through the end of February. In June, Pascarella announced he planned to leave when his contract ended in December.
The county said the move will give them more time to find his replacement, and will allow Pascarella to help in the transition process.
The full Chippewa County Board will take up the measure at their meeting on December 12.
Chippewa County (WQOW) - Frank Pascarella, who announced he would leave his position as Chippewa County Administrator at the end of 2017, now says he is open to remaining in the position until the end of February 2018.
He told News 18, the Chippewa County Executive Committee is hoping to keep him on board for two more months while they continue searching for a replacement. They hope to have a replacement in place by mid-February, which would give Pascarella a couple of weeks to train the replacement and ease the transition.
Pascarella said if the executive committee passes the extension Nov. 14, it would in front of the Chippewa County County Board on Dec. 12.
