Milltown (WQOW) - Monday, the sentenced was handed down for a former prominent member of a western Wisconsin community.

A Polk County judge ordered Virgil Hansen to spend four years in jail. He must also register as a sex offender.

Hansen served as the town clerk in Milltown, and was a longtime member of the fire department there. Hansen was charged two years ago with torturing and sexually assaulting a young teenage boy by hanging him by his feet and calling him 'slave'. The boy estimated the sexual assaults happened more than a hundred times.

Hansen admitted to tying the boy up, but denied sexually assaulting him, and told detectives he thought it was a mutual game they were playing.
