Eau Claire (WQOW) - We were treated to a bright blue sky Thursday, and if you were looking up at just the right time you might have been lucky enough to see an angel.
The Navy's Blue Angels will be performing in the Eau Claire sky next June. So Monday, two of the team's members descended into town via one of their performing planes to get a lay of the land before the big show.
They're checking out the airport to get a feel for where everything will take place, figuring out hotel accommodations and checking out the community they have already become quite fond of.
"We're also here to inspire that culture of excellence, said Blue Angels pilot, Lt. Dave Steppe. "Kind of inspire that next generation of Blue Angels and that's what makes this an awesome opportunity. Eau Claire, we can't wait to be back up here. Wisconsin is an awesome state and we're just glad to be coming back."
The Blue Angels are the longest running flight demonstration team performing across the country since 1946.
