Fire department estimates $5,000 in damage after fire near Eau Claire's west side


Eau Claire (WQOW) - A Friday morning fire in Eau Claire caused $5,000 in damage according to the Eau Claire Fire Department.

The Eau Claire Fire Department responded to 2123 4th Street for a fire in the upstairs apartment, shortly before 3 a.m. According to a news release from Eau Claire Fire and Rescue, the tenants of the apartment were evacuated, but no one was injured, and there were able to return after the incident. The fire was extinguished by the department shortly before 4 a.m. The fire department has not release the name of the tenants at this time. 

The Eau Claire Police Department was on scene to assist the fire department.

The fire department estimates around $5,000 dollars in damage was caused by the fire, which remains under investigation by the department.
