Eau Claire (WQOW) -- While watching football Sunday, people might have noticed some of the players' decorated cleats. Athletes were allowed to wear custom cleats to raise awareness, and money, for charity.
The Eau Claire Police Department was inspired by the campaign and decided to join them in their own way. In a video the department shared on Facebook, officers said:
"We don't make millions of dollars. We don't have fancy celebrity shoe contracts. But we do care about our community. These are our passions, beyond policing."
But instead of 'My Cause, My Cleats,' the ECPD went with 'My Cause, My Boots.'
Officers decorated their boots, or shoes, on behalf of charities close to their own hearts. Some showed support for the Special Olympics, others for Bob's House of Dogs and the Ronald McDonald House Charity.
Along with pictures of their embellished kicks, the department shared photos of why those causes are important to the officers. See the full video below:
