Chris Hoyt joined Eau Claire's Own News 18 as a production assistant back in July of 2014. He is a graduate of The Institute of Production and Recording (IPR) in Minneapolis, MN with an associates degree in Post Production for Film & Television and an emphasis in audio engineering. In 2017, Chris was promoted as a full-time videographer.
After graduation you could find Chris around the Chippewa Valley working with multiple production companies as an audio technician for local concerts and festivals such as Rock Fest, Country Jam, Northwoods Rock Rally, The Eau Claire Regional Arts Center (State Theater), Voulume One's Sounds Like Summer Concert Series, the former House of Rock, and much more.
Chris was born in Menomonie and raised in the country (by wolves) outside of the town of Boyceville where he still resides. He is excited about his new position as a photographer/videographer trying to find a way to bring a unique perspective to the way his photos/videos are seen and heard.
When Chris is not working he enjoys being outdoors and exploring the area. Whether it's snowboarding down Wisconsin's downhill slopes, a hike through the woods, attending a concert (if he's not working at it) or enjoying one of Wisconsin's finest beverages, Spotted Cow! It's the small things that really count.
