Eau Claire (WQOW) - A nonprofit that prepares students for higher education presented a local school with a donation Thursday.
Every year the United Way raises money and for every dollar donated, Great Lakes matches it. Together this year, more than $6,000 was raised for Lakeshore Elementary. The funds go toward extra training for teachers, supplies, and technology like computers and iPads.
"There is a huge need at Lakeshore Elementary because it is a low-income school. So, to be able to help a school that really is in need for that... it's a great thing," Sara Johnson of Great Lakes Higher Education said.
This is the 5th year in a row that Lakeshore Elementary has been chosen for the donation.
