UPDATE: Police said a man wanted for hit and runs and leading them on a high speed chase in December did it again last week, but this time he did not get away.
Eric Paquette, 52, from Eau Claire, was charged in both cases Wednesday. It was December 29 when a driver said Paquette fled after hitting his vehicle. Police spotted his van and chased him.
The chase was called off because of his high speed and slippery roads.
Last Friday, police tried to stop a speeding car, which fled and hit speeds of more than 80 m.p.h. on North Hastings Way. The car crashed into a light pole. Police said Paquette tried to run off but was captured.
