Western WI man charged after alleged road rage incident where he reportedly punched, kicked man

Whitehall (WQOW) - A western Wisconsin man faces charges for an alleged road rage incident near Eau Claire.

Joseph Taylor, from Whitehall, is accused of intentionally sideswiping a SUV that passed him on Interstate 94 last month. According to the criminal complaint, the other driver said the crash forced him into the median. He told troopers when he came to a stop, Taylor rammed his truck into the back of the SUV.

The driver said when he walked up to Taylor's door, he turned away to check traffic, and Taylor punched him in the face, kicked at him, and said he had a gun. Another driver confirmed that story to troopers.

Police said a search of Taylor and his truck turned up four knives, brass knuckles and an orange flare gun that had been painted black, making it resemble a handgun.

Taylor claimed the other driver hit his truck, and later admitted punching him. He'll return to court next month.
