Neighbors on Eau Claire's south side are worried a development plan would hurt the setting they love after a proposal was made to develop a 15-unit condominium development.
The proposal calls for 15 condo-homes on 3.6 acres of land near Westover Road and West of State Street, but neighbors tell News 18 they're concerned about having too many homes on too little land, an increase in traffic, and damaging the neighborhood's already "wooded" and natural environment.
About 50 of them have signed a protest petition against the development. They'll have another chance to be heard at the city council meeting on Monday, January 8 during a public hearing.
Then, the city council will take up the proposal the following day on Tuesday, January 9.
The plan commission is recommending the council deny the plan because the number of units proposed, lack of parking and lot size.
