One person killed in Clark County crash

Clark County (WQOW) - One person was killed after a crash on CTH GG by Bachelors Avenue in the Township of Hendren.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of the crash at about 5:53 p.m., Wednesday January 10. According to police, a pickup truck driven by Marilyn A. Ruppelt, 57, was eastbound on CTH GG when she crashed into a tractor being driven by William J. Kokaly, 70, that was also eastbound.

Ruppelt was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Carl. Kokaly went to the Neillsville Memorial Medical Center and is expected to survive. It appears speed and weather conditions caused the accident. Ruppelt was not wearing a seat belt.

The Greenwood Area Fire Department and Ambulance Service responded to the scene with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Thorp Area Ambulance Service, Spirit Ambulance and Deputy Coroner Carl. The Investigation is continuing by the Clark County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Office.

This is the first traffic fatality in Clark County for 2018.
