Just when some of the snow starts to melt, a winter storm warning comes into effect. News 18 asked a few locals how they're planning to conquer the possible 8 to twelve inches of snow on their Monday morning commute.
Heather Burich Holle and Andrew Holle of Eau Claire recommend stocking up on groceries and finishing up last-minute errands early to lower drive time. Vanessa Boorse, UW-Eau Claire student, told us she commutes for student teaching and always has essential items like blankets and a shovel in her car in case of slide-offs or accidents.
"If you know your route well, you know the places that can be slipperier than others," said Donna Raleigh of Eau Claire. "I certainly drive slower than the speed limit. I do clear the windows thoroughly on my car so I can see. And as long as you're aware of all of that and, of course, aware of the other people on the road, you can do fine in the snow."
Then, there are the lucky ones who may not have to go to class or work if the weather calls for a snow day.
