Eau Claire (WQOW) - The Eau Claire Streets Department is asking for patience following Monday's snow storm.
Maintenance manager Steven Thompson told News 18 it's all hands on deck after an event like this. He said the main focus on Monday is the 86 miles of main roads; those are the streets that are driven most throughout Eau Claire like Hastings Way, Rudolph Road, Gulf Road and Cameron Street.
"In this type of weather, right now, there are probably about 20 trucks out there on the arterials," Thompson said. "Overnight we'll probably have a few less than that depending on when the snow stops."
Residential streets will be the focus on Tuesday after the storm stops, Thompson said. He said plows will start clearing up neighborhood streets around 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
If in an emergency, the City of Eau Claire plow crews will assist the Eau Claire Police and Fire Departments to help clean up roads Thompson told News 18.
Thompson said it's important drivers stay patient with plows. He said it could take up to 2 - 3 days to clean up after this snow fall.
According to the WQOW Meteorologists, the Chippewa Valley area could see 7 to 12 inches of snow with southwest of Eau Claire potentially seeing higher amounts.
