Eau Claire (WQOW) - A former president of the Menomonie School Board was charged Thursday with soliciting prostitution.
Gerald Fahl II, who also goes by Jay Fahl, was picked up by Eau Claire police last month. Undercover officers placed an ad on backpage.com posing as a prostitute. They said Fahl responded to the ad, and agreed to pay $80 for a half hour of sex. He was arrested when he arrived at the arranged meeting spot.
Fahl served on the Menomonie School Board for eleven years; the past three as president. He resigned six days after his arrest.
In his resignation letter, he said "there are things in my personal life that need my attention and focus."
Fahl's initial court appearance is set for February 13.
