Eau Claire (WQOW) - Residents of the Chippewa Valley had the chance to ask Congressman Ron Kind about issues that matter to the state of Wisconsin on Thursday.
Alternative energy job growth was one of the many issues brought up at Thursday's public listening session at the American Legion Post 53 in Eau Claire.
Some of the other topics of conversation included the farming bill, which is up for renewal this year, energy conservation, creating more partnerships statewide and locally to fight the opioid crisis in the Dairy State and making college more affordable and accessible for future students.
"We have a major re-building need for Wisconsin and in America, and an infrastructure bill along with good paying jobs that come from it. We have a farm bill and a higher education bill that's up for renewal and the importance of production in agriculture and how our family farmers have struggled that's also going to be very important to address this year," Ron Kind said.
Reducing healthcare costs and creating more job opportunities were also popular topics attendees discussed with Congressman Kind.
Eau Claire County was Congressman Kind's first stop in his 2018 listening sessions around western and north central Wisconsin.
