Barron County (WQOW) - One person is in jail after a domestic situation in Rice Lake Sunday morning.
According to police, shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday, police were called to a home on the south side of Rice Lake because a woman said her husband shot a gun at the floor of the home during a fight. The caller said she secured herself and the children in a separate room.
David Bartels, 37, was taken into custody about 2.5 hours later.
In order to alert Bartels, Barron County Emergency Response Team shot four bean bags into the living room window.
"The officers knew that Mr. Bartels was laying on the couch below the window and they took the window out to make it cool in there for whatever reason and that did wake him up and Mr. Bartels came out of the residence willingly," Captain Tracy Hom of the Rice Lake Police Department said.
Captain Hom said when Bartels was arrested he smelled strongly of intoxicants.
He was taken to the Barron County Jail pending formal charges.
