Menomonie (WQOW) -- Super Bowl LII may be over, but some area hotels reaped the benefits of the big event being so close to home.
Staff at the Hampton Inn & Suites Hotel in Menomonie said this was their first big event since opening last year. They had a lot of pre-bookings ahead of the game with only a couple un-booked rooms in the entire hotel.
Hampton Inn employees said they felt prepared for such a big event, and didn't experience any issues with guests from out of state.
"A lot of excited fans from Philadelphia, they were super excited about their team being in the Super Bowl and a great time all around," Hampton's Sales Manager, Leanne Cynor told News 18.
"Everything went really well. Everyone was super excited, just you know, getting to be in Minneapolis, and enjoying all of the festivities," said Amanda Williams, the front desk supervisor at the hotel. "Everyone was just really amped about the game, so it was cool."
Hotel staff said they also believe they filled up fairly quickly due to keeping consistent, low rates compared to hotels closer to U.S. Bank Stadium and the surrounding Twin Cities area.
