Eau Claire (WQOW) - A former president of the Menomonie School Board reached a plea deal in the case against him for soliciting prostitution.

As News 18 reported, Eau Claire police busted Jay Fahl last month They said he responded to a prostitution ad on backpage.com which was actually posted by undercover officers.

Tuesday in court, he pleaded guilty to prostitution/non-marital sexual intercourse.

Judge John Manydeeds deferred accepting his plea, which means his case could be dropped in a year if he meets certain terms. In the next 12 months, he'll have to complete "John School" (education programs for men arrested for buying sex), do 40 hours of community service and pay a $250 fee.

As a condition of his bond, he'll also have to stay off backpage.com

Fahl served on the Menomonie School Board for 11 years. He resigned six days after his arrest.
