Eau Claire (WQOW) - Eau Claire Floral had special workers helping them with their Valentine's Day deliveries Wednesday.
Dressed in their gear, off-duty firefighters with the Eau Claire Fire Department delivered every flower arrangement imaginable to sweethearts around the Chippewa Valley.
The fire fighters told News 18 they enjoy seeing the reactions of recipients when they get their bouquet, and that celebrating the day of love is extra unique because their flower delivery job lets them show love as a fire station, to the Eau Claire community.
"Eau Claire Floral pays us a wage for the deliveries and they pay us a little bit more for a donation to our charity. Our charity is the, Eau Claire Firefighters Charity and every year we take this money and use it for different events such as our, Coats for Kids Drive and college scholarships for future firefighters and EMT's," paramedic, Todd Nutter, told News 18.
The fire department has been participating in flower deliveries for four years now and 2018 was one of their busiest years yet. They delivered a few hundred arrangements throughout the day on Valentine's Day. They raise around $1,300 each year for their charity through the flower deliveries.
