Eau Claire (WOQW) -- Next month, 100 Northwestern Wisconsin high school students will compete to win scholarships for post-secondary education.
Students will participate in an online business-strategy tournament at Chippewa Valley Technical College on Friday, March 2 from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
At the event, business professionals advise high school teams about making smart business decisions in a "real world" environment. Each team operates as their own business creating the same computer simulated product. During the tournament the teams make business decisions: choosing product prices, developing marketing strategies, maintaining inventory volumes, distributing charitable giving and determining research and development (R&D) investment.
Proceeds benefit Junior Achievement's purpose, to inspire and prepare youth to succeed in a global economy. We also thank the 40 plus businesses supporting area youth through this year's JA Business Challenge.
