La Crosse (WXOW) -- On Saturday area teams had a chance to compete for a good cause at Coulee Region Moving Service's "Hoops 4 Hope" basketball tournament.
The 4-on-4 tournament features eight teams competing against each other to raise funds for New Horizons Outreach Center.
"I am trying to get creative about how people can donate so we're trying to encourage people to get involved so hopefully this event raises some awareness," owner of Coulee Region Moving Services and Co-Founder of "Hoops 4 Hope" Colin Luz explains.
The event also unveils Coulee Region Moving Service's new Business Partnership Program that aims to provide New Horizons with donated services from area businesses.
"For example a personal trainer could maybe donate a free self-defense class, something that goes a little above and beyond just a monetary donation," Luz finishes.
Luz hopes to make the event a tradition with next year's "Hoops 4 Hope" scheduled for February.
