(WQOW) - Governor Scott Walker used Twitter Monday to announce $100 million in contracts to 27 Wisconsin subcontractors and suppliers to work phase 1 of the Foxconn project.
The closet contractor to Eau Claire, is Hoffman Construction Company in Black River Falls.
Walker saidtThe 27 Wisconsin subcontractors will work to prepare the Foxconn site for construction. At the peak of development, 150 pieces of heavy earth moving equipment sourced from across the state will move more than 1 million cubic yards of earth per month. An estimated 70,000 truckloads of aggregate, or gravel, also will be delivered to the site, primarily from New Berlin, Sussex, Waterford, and Racine.
