Lincoln Elementary in Merrillan recognized for closing achievement gap

Merrillan (WQOW) - Lincoln Elementary, part of the Alma Center-Humbird-Merillan School District, was recognized for showing significant gains in reducing the achievement gap.

The school was recognized by Solution Tree (a professional development company, and publisher of educational material for educators) as the first elementary school in Wisconsin to be a Model Professional Learning Community (Model PLC). Lincoln Elementary was one of only two schools in the entire state to receive the award. 

Professional Learning Communities are schools that organize their schools so that all students learn at high levels.
