Chippewa Valley teachers gain needed tools thanks to nonprofit

Western Wisconsin (WQOW) - Eleven teachers in the Chippewa Valley are celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week with some new tools, thanks to Herb Kohl Philanthropies.

The organization paid for every Wisconsin teacher's project request listed on the website donorschoose.org. Those projects eclipsed a $400,000 price tag.

In Eau Claire and Chippewa Counties, nearly $8,000 was awarded to the 11 teachers.

The biggest project - more than $2,000 for pH sensors for a science teacher in New Auburn.

Other teachers who received funding teach at Sherman Elementary, Altoona Elementary, Memorial High, Cadott Elementary and Bloomer Elementary,
