Eau Claire (WQOW) - The Eau Claire School Board has made a change in leadership.
At its meeting on Monday, the board decided to make Joe Luginbill its new president. Aaron Harder was voted in as vice president, with Chris Hambuch-Boyle serving as clerk and Lori Bica as treasurer.
Also at Monday's meeting, the board voted to approve a small raise for all hourly employees, starting next year. The district said it was impact roughly 550 staff members. A similar proposal was sent to the teachers union for approval as well.
The raise is on top of the yearly 2% raise already on the books. The total cost of the raises is roughly $57,000.
Also approved at the meeting, construction bids for HVAC and other upgrades at Little Red and Prairie Ridge Elementary.
As News 18 has reported, Little Red was picked as the site for an environmental charter school. Those behind the proposal are still raising funds, but upgrades to the school are moving forward because the district still uses the building for storage.
The total cost of the projects at the two schools is more than $500,000, and will be paid out of the capital improvement budget.
