Eau Claire (WQOW) - The voices you hear everyday on Wisconsin Public Radio are hoping you come out and see them in person.
Thursday, WPR is hosting a listener appreciation event at Artisan Forge Studios in Eau Claire. On-air personalities like Dan Robinson, Doug Gordon, Rich Kremer and Al Ross will all be there. Senior regional manager Dean Kallenbach says WPR relies on 54,000 listeners and direct contributors across the state, and this is a way to say thank you.
"We're used to talking to them, but not necessarily used to having them talk back, and so the opportunity to see them, and sometimes for them to see us it's a little bit of a shock, because we're radio people, there's a reason for that,” said Kallenbach. “I think it's a great opportunity to extend the conversations we have on the radio face-to-face, it's just a lot of fun."
The event will also include live art demonstrations from Artisan Forge artists, and food and drinks from the Marigold Cafe, The French Press and Summer Snow. The first 200 people to RSVP will get a WPR themed prize. It's going on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Artisan Forge Studios in Eau Claire.
