Services Thursday for Eau Claire icon, Billy Noss

Funeral services for Bill Noss will be held Thursday, May 17.

Noss died at his home Tuesday, May 8.

According to an online obituary, a visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Carson Park baseball stadium. A celebration of life will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. The “Billy Noss Celebration of Life and Special Olympics” account has been set up at Royal Credit Union

Eau Claire (WQOW) - An icon in the Eau Claire sports community has died, according to reports from several Eau Claire area athletic programs.

If you attended a sporting event at Carson Park in the past few decades, chances are you ran into Billy Noss. Noss died at the age of 78.

Noss helped direct traffic, served as bat boy for local sports teams and competed in Special Olympics. 

As News 18 reported In 2014, Noss was honored by the Eau Claire Police Department as an honorary member of the department for his 75th birthday.

The Eau Claire Cavaliers and Eau Claire Bears will play a game on May 28 in Bill's memory.
