Chippewa Falls (WQOW) - International Women's Day, National Siblings Day, even Pi Day - everyone deserves that special day of recognition. For children with disabilities that day was Friday, May 11.
The 20th annual Special Kid's Day in Chippewa Falls brought in food, music and fun for dozens of special needs students across multiple western Wisconsin school districts. Special Kid's Day Inc. is a non-profit organization focused on giving them educational and social experience.
"It's just a great opportunity for kids of all abilities to come out and be in their own element." said Karlene McGinnis, Ladysmith early childhood educator. "They can be who they want to be and do what they want to do, dance how they want to dance and no one is going to judge them and look at them any differently."
WQOW was a proud sponsor of the event.
