Chippewa Falls (Chippewa YMCA) - Everyone can fish for free this weekend in Wisconsin and the Chippewa Valley Family Y-M-C-A has a fun event planned for Saturday, June 2nd. For their 5th event of the year, Chippewa YMCA in partnership with the Chippewa Rod & Gun Club and our DNR Conservation Wardens are hosting a free fishing event to teach you how to fish.
It's always held on the first Saturday of June, June 2 this year to coincide with the DNR Free Fishing Weekend. No fishing license required. This is a free event open to the public. Participants will learn how to tie a fishing knot, receive instruction on casting, be able to fish on Duncan Creek, see demonstrations on how to filet fish and be able to sample some fresh cooked fish. Participants will go home with a free fishing pole while supplies last.
The event starts at Noon and runs until 4 PM at Marshall Park in Chippewa Falls by the swimming pool.
